Top 3 Thursday

Finally, after a long vacation from blogging........I am back. I have promised myself to blog at least once a week so if you see me slacking please call me out! I provided a picture of Chloe in case any of you have forgotten how cute she is.
This week's T3T topic is Favorite People you would invite to dinner (dead or alive):
FYI: I am going in no particular order of priority of whom is most important.
  • 1. My Grandparents- John Frank and Eula Belle Morgan - My grandmother died when my mom was 6 and my grandfather passed away 5 years before I was born. I would love to be able to sit down to dinner with them so they could tell me all of the stories about my mother when she was a little girl and to share other memories with me. It would also thrill me to know where my mother got her drive from along with her ability to be strong and which one she favors. All we have is pictures..........
  • 2. Sean Dickens- Ben's brother, Sean, died in a car accident a few years ago and I would LOVE to be able to sit down with him and hear the stories about growing up with Ben and his adventures with hunting, racing, etc. The Dickens are such a wonderful family and there is not a day that goes by that they do not think about Sean. I am so blessed to be able to hear such wonderful stories about such a handsome young man and to be able to see his son grow up to look just like him!
Sean is greatly missed but we all know he is looking down on us!
Now, that I have made everyone nearly cry..........my last person has to be a celebrity just because!
  • 3. Reese Witherspooon - I mean who does not want to sit down with her and hear about her life and what she has gone through. She has gone through and divorce and so have I, at least we have one thing in common. Haha! I would love to listen to how she came through hers and how it affected her children. I would also love to know about how hooked she is on fashion and if she has people that pick out her clothes for her, etc. There are so many more girly questions I would have to ask her that I am pretty sure I would just sip wine and not even bother eating since I would be too busy asking questions. :)

Please go visit http://www.southerninthecityblog.blogspot.com/ to see Lacey and read her T3T along with others.

Top 3 Thursday: Biggest Fears

This one was super difficult for me because it really put into perspective the things that I truly am afraid of. I think all of us girls are afraid of spiders, snakes, heights, etc. but I am thinking more along the lines of:

#3 biggest fear is drowning
Even though as a little girl I had all of my birthday parties at the YMCA where my oldest brother taught swimming lessons and I jumped off of the high dive; I have a severe fear of drowning. I know how to swim but for some reason it just scares me to think about it.
#2 biggest fear is guns
I never grew up in a household where my parents had guns and I certainly will never have one in my household. They scare me and they can easily hurt someone and everytime I see one I shiver.
#1 biggest fear is having my heart broken (again)
Being only 24 years old, I have had my heart broken once and it has healed but if definetly took longer than I wanted it to. I have also witnessed other members of my family have their hearts broken along with some of my closest friends. Being hurt emotionally is something that happens to us but over time we deal with it and in the end it only makes us stronger.
Wow, I feel like this was uber depressing.....maybe its because I woke up to rain and not sunshine.

When it rains it pours...........

My life recently had a new curve ball thrown at it and I am trying to adjust and roll with the punches. I am not ready to talk about all of the events that have taken place and I know that I have some of the best friends a girl could ask for who are so supporting throughout it all. I also have a wonderful boyfriend that has been right there beside me the entire time.

With that being said, I want to share with you a song that Sushannah sent me to bring me some encouragement and it truly brought tears to my eyes. However, it also reminded me that I need to know that God is there for me and even it situations like these when you wonder why these events must take place He is there with you through out it all. Thanks Sus for being an amazing best friend!! I love you!

I have also been listening to Hillsong United-From the Inside Out. This song always brings me peace after a long stressful day and reminds me to casts all my cares upon Him.

"In my heart, in my soul, I give you control, consume from the inside out."

I Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."

Top Three Thursday on Friday- That's how I roll :)

So I got really busy yesterday with being out of town for work and almost missed doing this and its better to do it a day late than never, right?!?! :)

So this week is.......................

I am choosing to go with all material things since my most prized possession that I cannot live without is my family and my sweet dog, Chloe!

3. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm- An ultimate staple and this stuff can be found in my purse, in my make-up bag and on my bedside table to ensure I am never without it!!!

2. My Blackberry which most people commonly refer to as a crackberry which in turn in true since the thing is super addictive............I mean its not a iPhone but I have apps just like all the iPhone people and the most important thing is texting and receiving picture messages of my favorite nieces and nephews and yes my phone is enclosed in a pink silicone cover. I mean I had to have something pink. :)

1. SHOES- I mean who knows me and doesnt know my obsession for shoes. Perfect example, last weekend I went out of town for two night and took 7 pairs of shoes. I have over 200 shoes and yes they have their very own closet! There is nothing like a pair of heels! Flip flops are also great but you can keep your flat shoes because I do NOT want them! I think my obsession all started when I was a kid because Mom tells me I walked on my tip toes everywhere. I was practicing for my heels. :) Before I die, I would like to own at least one pair of Christian Louboutins! I know they are really expensive but I just want them and yes I really do want the pink glittery ones ($595) for anyone who wants to get them for me for my birthday. :) Maybe I will wear them with my wedding dress; however, I am feeling cowboy boots for my reception! :)

A little added shoe tip for those of you who don't know: Christian Louboutins are famous for their red soles! All of their shoes have them!

Top 3 Thursday: Celebrities

3. Julia Roberts but she had to be #3 since she supports Obama and for that I almost didnt let her make my top three list; however, Stepmom (singing "Aint no mountain high enough) is one of my favorite movies along with Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride.

2. Jennifer Anniston- I mean she was married to Brad Pitt plus she was in Friends, one of the best sitcoms ever! I also loved her in Along Came Polly, Love Happens, He's Just Not that into You and the newest, Bounty Hunter. Classy girl and always looks beautiful with or without makeup.

1. Reese Witherspoon-Three Words: Sweet Home Alabama..............my favorite movie!!! I love it at the end of the movie when she looks at Jake and says "So I can kiss you anytime I want." I also am in love with an old movie Reese was in when she was a little girl called Man in the Moon. I am also a fan of a Reese in the Legally Blonde movies and Walk the Line. On more than one occasion people have told me I resembled her...........it must be the blonde hair and blue eyes! I think she is beautiful so I will take that as a complement anyday! :)

Top Three Thursday

3. Nashville

This summer me, Lauren, Sushannah and Lacey went to Nashvegas to celebrate mine and Lacey's birthday and we had an absolute blast!!! Memories were made that will never be forgotten! :) We visited the Country Music Hall of Fame, had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and enjoyed the nightlife of the city.

2. Las Vegas

The day after I graduated with my MBA from Troy; Keri, Sushannah, Rachel and I all flew to Vegas and had a fantabulous time. We stayed at the Stratosphere, gambled, saw the Thunder from Down Under and a Cirque de Soleil show. We also rented a car and drove to the Hoover Dam. Flying the red eye home may not have been the best idea but the overall trip was a success!
#1-Italy!!

When I was a freshman in high school, I went to Italy for two weeks and even though I was really too young to appreciate it as I would now; I had an incredible time. We went to Venice, Verona, Pisa, Milan, Florence and Rome. We spent a few nights in each of the cities and saw everything there was to see. Also, since digital cameras were not popular in 2000; my pictures are all in a box and maybe one day I will get to scan them in. I will post some images of the landmarks I saw.

I have also enjoyed visiting Lousiana, Florida, Jamaica and Cozumel. I will be going to NYC and Cozumel in May so I sure I will have a favorites post about each of those vacation spots once I get back! Until then I am taking it one day at a time and just trying to survive busy season! :)

Happy Birthday Mom!!

I truly believe my mother is the best. She has raised 8 wonderful children and still manages to hold it all together. Shelby, Terri and I surprised her with a trip to the beach on her birthday weekend. We had dinner at the Back Porch followed by a trip to Howl at the Moon, a piano bar. We had such a great time dancing and just being together! We even got Mom on stage!
