Fight Night Fun!!

So last night I had the pleasure of meeting up with Ben to catch up and we decided to venture off and watch Fight Night at a local Bham joint and actually had a great time!! I have decided that I will start training soon and have already found the perfect pink boxing gloves!!!!

Time flies by when you are having FUN.....

So the past few months have flown by and I am thoroughly enjoying the summer!!!

Lauren and I attended the first Art on the Rocks for this season and we had a great time doing the scavenger hunt and making our own masterpieces. I won a $500 gift certificate to Bromberg's!! Happy Early Birthday to me!

I went home for Father's Day and got to see my sister Terri who is having a little girl on September 18th! She is so stinking cute and you can hardly tell she is pregnant!!

This weekend me and three girls from high school are going to Nashville to celebrate the 4th!

Dave Matthews Concert and Ray Lamontagne Concert

I went to see Dave Matthews on 4/20 right here in Pelham down the street from my house and had first section tickets!!! Dave did he rendition of Burning down the house which was amazing!!! I am a huge DMB fan and saw him in Atlanta a few years ago and his concerts are always a sure treat that never disappoints!!!

On 4/27, the following Monday I got to see Ray Lamontage (pronounced La-mon-tain) in concert at the Alabama Theater which is a beautiful place to watch a concert. We sat in the front row of the balcony and had amazing seats. Ray's music has been on Grey's Anatomy and the movie, The Devil Wears Prada. The concert was great!!

For a girl who has such musical roots Birmingham is definitely the place for me to be!!!

Crawfish Boil 2009

This past weekend Sushannah came up to visit which is always a treat!!
Sushannah is one of the best friends a girl could ask for! She mean the world to me and has been with me through thick and thin. On Friday night, we went to the Crawfish Boil with Lauren and my brother, Shannon. We saw LL Cool J and Jason Mraz. It was ok but definetly crowded and so filthy. So we opted out on going the second night and went to have dinner at Jackson's Bisto in SOHO instead and of course we went out after that and partied like rockstars and Sushannah got to experience Nana Funk's which I think is something everyone should experience at least once!
I had a wonderful weekend and can's wait for her to come back and visit again!!!! Love you Sus!

Tickled Pink!!

So I just found out last Thursday that my sister, Terri, is having a little girl. Since she already has a son, Cameron, she will now be able to experience the best of both worlds!! Terri is such a great mother and I am so happy for her and I cannot wait to meet my niece which is due on my brother Chris's birthday, September 27th!

I am going to miss my McKenna Belle as she moves to Louisiana in a few weeks but that just means more roadtrips for Mom and I to see her and Suzanne. I love you McKenna Belle and am so proud of you! Swine Flu???

So last night I started feeling so terrible. I took medicine and went straight to bed. I woke up feeling 10 times worse so I called into work and went straight to the doctor where I sat in the waiting room forever!! I finally got called back and told the doctor my symptoms and he put on gloves before he touched me and was like I think you may have the flu and I was thinking oh goodness not the swine flu!!! They took such much blood and a few other tests which made me anxious as I waited for my test results. Well, it turns out I have a bacteria infection with a long name that I cannot spell or really even remember what they told me I have. I got two shots, one in each hip which made me so dizzy and the nurse yelled help and I fainted. When I woke up, she told me I had lost all of my color and some man camee and placed me on the table to lay down where they made me bend my knees in, etc. I felt so terrible and embarrassed at this point but those shots were no joke. Oh well, hopefully I will be feeling better soon!! I hate being sick! Say a prayer for me!

Tuesday Ramblings

Talk about being out of shape...................Yesterday I started back to the gym so I can look perfect for Emily's wedding in June. My abs are absolutely killing me. I thought my legs were going to turn into jello-o after an hour of cardio. Hard work pays off or say they say. I have 59 days so lets hope I keep this up and stick with it!!

On another note, I really should be working right now but I cannot help but think about all of the great concerts coming up this month in Birmingham that I am going too.

What can I say?? I know it seems so overwhelming that I want to go to that many but I LOVE LOVE music. Music truly runs deep in my bones and I thoroughly enjoy it. I will let you know how the concerts turn out. You would think I would realize I have to work the next day but who cares I am still young and losing a few hours of sleep wont kill me and I will greatly sacrifice sleep for a great concert any day. Back to work.....................

First Cavity

Well, I now know the pain of getting a cavity filled and luckily I put it off for 23 years. I guess at this age I really dont have many firsts left but this was not one I wanted to mark off of the list. I really hope I dont ever have to go through that again and as if the waiting in the lobby was enought to build my anxiety I had to have an INJECTION!! I told the dentist that I was not mentally prepared for an injection and of course he responds with trust me you want this! So as always I say ok and went back to work feeling like my whole face was numb and like I had chipmunk cheeks. Needless to say, this whole first experience ruined my Friday night and I slept off the novacaine shot.

Bittersweet Memories

This past weekend I went home to watch Shelby hand over her crown. It seems just like yesterday when I was doing the same. I cannot believe it has been 5 years since I was in her shoes. McKenna was there wearing her crown for a few more weeks until she has to hand it over. Daddy looked so great walking Shelby onto the stage for the last time as Miss Brundidge. Doesnt my mom look great?? She just had her 60th birthday!

Wine Down Wednesday

Last night was Wine Down Wednesday and a great time was had by all parties involved. I am very disappointed in the fact that I did not get to have dessert from Fleming's. One person had me all worked up about the Chocolate Lava Cake which is his 1a favorite dessert. So I looked at Fleming's website to see what I missed out on: CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE - rich chocolate cake with a molten chocolate center, served with vanilla ice cream and chopped pistachios............Yum!! Cant wait to try it!! I did give in and drink red wine last night which was good despite the fact that I love a good Riesling. However, the cab did not disappoint so maybe I do like red wines after all. It never hurts to try anything once, right?

UPDATE: Had the Chocolate Melting Cake from Fleming's after Dinner at Brio and it is AMAZING!!

Working for the weekend

I am absolutely give out and dont know if I will ever be able to catch up on my sleep. I worked in my yard on Sunday and am in so much pain. I am too young to hurt this bad. This weekend is my mother's 60th birthday and we are going to have a surprise birthday party for her on Friday night. I am so excited to see all of my family since I feel like all I have doing is working...................so basically I am just working for the weekend!! :)
